leaving on a jet plane

but will be returning home monday night. my little one is so excited, having only been on a plane one other time and loved it, delays and all. going to california for a little baby shower planned by my family. so lucky, and looking forward to the uplifting environment.
things are a bit stressful in my parts...i have been picking up work as a bookkeeper but that can't last for long being that i am 8 months preggers. my honey is trying so hard to find work and dealing with the changes in his professional life. just trying to put the energy out there to bring about the things we need. i suppose other than income, we've got it all, our health, the 4 of us and so so so much love.

three

three: river, you love to cook, laugh and be tickled. you consider yourself to be a helper of other people and animals. you love baking, cuddling, books, mighty machines and dogs. you are quite inquistive, talk constantly and love life. we are so lucky and in love with you!
my little one turned three this weekend. he considers himself quite the big boy and it was quite a weekend. bryson and i always spend the morning alone as a little family and we took him to the children's museum in denver, which we all loved.
he got a big boy bike and helmet from us as his present. he was thrilled, but had to ride it in the house since there was a couple inches outside (it has been dang cold and snowy here in CO!) i also made him a number 3 and sewed it onto a shirt he is about to grow out of for a little decoration!
river has never had a cupcake, not much sugar in his life at all. he is getting the idea that birthdays mean cake though and after reading if you give a cat a cupcake, he decided he wanted cupcakes with sprinkles for his birthday...and that is what he got! i had a sugar free lemon cupcake recipe all ready but was so tired that morning with cleaning, pregnancy etc that i opted for the box cake and homemade chocolate frosting which ended up being really delicious!
river did the sprinkles himself!
also made him a cape for his birthday. he had chosen the fabric a month or so ago after watching a show where the little boy had a cape. i put it together quite easily without a pattern...i will blog on this soon in case anyone is interested.
family photo op! this was the day after when we invited family over to celebrate. he is loving that cupcake...and hello! that is me...i never seem to get into the pictures cuz i'm the one taking them! happy february!

my aching back...

look at my sweet soon-to-be-so-excited-big-brother. he is a social kid, and can't wait to have another little one in the house. i am so lucky. he loves to kiss my belly and sing to his baby sister. he has many plans for when she arrives. he can't wait to show her how to poop in the toilet, how to walk, sing, laugh, and more. he is really embracing this!

i am 29 weeks pregnant and so fortunate to have a healthy growing baby girl inside my belly, and an uncomplicated pregnancy thus far. but oh, it is starting to catch up on with me. mostly, my belly pulling my back into an arch and by about 2 or 3 pm, it is killing me. my little one is still getting picked up into a high chair, into a car seat...i suppose i should make some changes to help compensate.

however, found a $35 playpen with changing table on craigslist that is in pretty good condition for a safe place to put baby upstairs while i am working in the kitchen, or just a safe place away from big brother.

also purchased a mini cosleeper that was used on 3 babies in a family, but doesn't have a scratch on it for $65. i am really stoked about this one.

lastly, i spoke with my girlfriend who just finished nursing her daughter and asked to borrow her medela pump as her baby shower gift and she agreed, purchasing new tubing equipment as a plus!

so since money is tight, at least i have a place for the little one to sleep, be safe and pump in case my nipples need a break, which was the case last time. we also kept a bunch of clothing from river as a baby and have all the cloth diapers so our needs are somewhat low.

this could be my last pregnancy...parenting is tough and i don't know that we will be able to afford any more babies so i intend to enjoy feeling her hiccup, turn and twist for the next 2.5 months!
